Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

What is life coaching?

As a credentialed life coach, I partner with my clients to achieve extraordinary results they desire in their lives. My clients come to me for coaching to reach goals, weight loss and increased well-being, relationships, stress management, life transitions, along with increasing happiness in their lives, growing in their career or changing careers, and life transitions. As a credentialed life coach, I help my clients to bridge the gap between where they currently are in their lives and where they want to be.

Institute of Life Coach Training founder, Patrick Williams, MCC describes coaching as:

“a powerful, human relationship where trained coaches assist people to design their future rather than help them get over their past . . . coaches aid clients in creating visions and goals for ALL aspects of their lives and in creating multiple strategies to support achieving those goals. Coaches recognize the brilliance of each client and their personal power to discover their own solutions when provided with support, accountability, and unconditional, positive regard.”

Does coaching work?

Why did you have weight loss surgery?

My weight has been a lifelong struggle. I went on my very first diet at 14 years old! From there, I tried Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, Gloria Marshall, Overeaters Anonymous, along with any diet out of a book or magazine that I could find. All in the hope of finding the magic formula for weight loss success. Ultimately, I never attained permanent weight loss success with the various diets. I’d lose some, gain back and sometimes even gain more. It was a constant physical and mental battle.

In 2001, I turned to weight loss surgery after tons of research. I had RNY Lap gastric bypass and lost 147 pounds. In addition, I also resolved a lot of health issues such as diabetes, GERD, and sleep apnea. I went from a size 26, 3x to a size 4. I lost my excess weight and learned to FIND LIFE!

What are your favorite NSVs (Non-Scale Victories)?

I battled self-esteem and learned to get past the “You Have Such a Pretty Face” stigma that I’d dealt with during childhood! I found a way to embrace a much needed pride in myself. I was featured in a marketing program for the bariatric program of the hospital where I had my surgery. I taped television commercials, was photographed for brochures and newspaper advertisements. It was a WOW Moment of a lifetime. I was very honored to be in this role to represent the excellence of this hospital in such an exciting way.

I became a licensed private pilot!

I walked the 3 Day/60 Mile Breast Cancer Walk and in several competitive races.

I follow you on Lose Weight Find Life, why the new site?

I started Lose Weight Find Life many years ago because I was  passionate about working with weight loss surgery patients. Lose Weight Find Life means so much personally to me and I will continue to be committed to paying it forward by helping others going through the same experiences. In addition to Lose Weight Find Life, I coach in many areas of life. I started Life Fixes to better be able to support and work with all of my clients.
